Certainly not always.
Don't forget the sheer genious 'built into' the better Technic sets from the
past. Just 'watching' them take shape in your hands can be very fulfilling.
Every LEGO set should offer such a moment of fascination or surprise
somewhere during the building process. It is exactly this enjoyment which is
(in many sets) phased out as juniorization moved in; even in *some* of the
larger Technic sets. (E.g. a motor & batery holder & wheel drive as one big
part and even engine cylinders without pistons!).
