Lego is all about creativity, right?
Let your imagination run wild, build whatever you want, etc

So, where is Lego's creativity?

Lets see what's new at Lego

1. More licenced themes - no originality there then
- Jurassic Park
- Harry Potter
- Bob the builder
- Yet MORE Star Wars in 2002
2. Classic sets - Cant excite anyone with some new stuff, so they just reissue old stuff. It might be good to get these
classic sets, but hardly creative is it?

So what have they come up with on their own recently?
- Bionicle - copying pocket money collectable type themes (and even then they copied pacific mythology)
- Racers - Ready designed for McDonalds Happy Meals?
- Adventurers and Lego Studios  = Jurassic park
- Jack Stone, Life on Mars, Alpha Team are 'original', but hardly set the world on fire and suffer from a little
juniorization.

Interestingly, the only good stuff seems to be exclusive to shop@home
- My own train
- sculptures
And of course bulk - complete creativity for the builder, but hardly creative on Lego's part (they havent even created
any new parts). And not a new idea

regards
lawrence

Re: Where is Lego's Creativity? (and where's the rest of Jurassic Park?)

(...) The imagination and creativity has always come from the people who play with the toys, not the company who designs them. There isn't really anything creative about building a LEGO kit by the instructions, no matter how good the model/theme is. (...) (23 years ago, 7-Aug-01, to lugnet.general)
