Yes, we have to give them these. They look good and for a good price
(although I am in the dark on the piece count for the train sets). High
marks for these sets!

Pretty good sets at a very bad price point. Will buy certain elements from
resalers or sets at deep discount, or perhaps just not bother. I like that
tree fairly well though, but I would have liked it better with the 14 stud
foliage element instead of the adventurers big palm leaf thing.

Some of the prices for these are all wrong if they expect them to actually
move. Still, I REALLY like the idea of elements being available so I can
build what I want from accessory packs. But there is no reason to call
these bulk anymore, so let's not fall in line with TLC's marketing strategy
on that point -- accessory packs it is!!!
> Sopwith Camel on the back cover
I am tempted by these, but mostly for the red curved fence elements. And
then, its too high a price considering I don't have other straight red fence
elements to work with these. Playing hide and seek with elements just
doesn't work with me anymore -- making them cheap and readily available or
get out of my face! I am NOT buying some $50 USD set to get some red fences,
see?
> Is it just me, or is LEGO moving in the wrong direction?
And this is news to you because why? If there is a change afoot, we STILL
have precious little evidence of it. If there is to be true bulk offerings
to replace the 1200 count blue buckets, here too TLC is moving as slow as
molasses...
For me the catalogue is evidence of the fact that for every move forward, we
must make two or three steps back -- it's fun if your dancing, but not
otherwise. Whatever...sometimes I think I will just stop buying now and
never look back. And that would make my every girlfriend I have had lately
quite happy. "O, so we can't have a B&B weekend in Sonoma because you have
to buy toys?!" See what I mean?

| Well, after looking at the latest catalog, World Tour Summer 2001, all I can wonder is: Does Lego make Lego anymore? So what does the new catalog have: · 2 page spread for Bionicle (makes one look at burps with admiration), new train engines (great (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jul-01, to lugnet.general)
