Hello all, I have always wondered the following regarding what other people do with their sets: If you have a set, do you keep all of it's pieces together and not use them for other things, or do you just mix all the parts in with your other pieces (...) (23 years ago, 21-May-01, to lugnet.general)

I basically do the same as you, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one! Some tell me that all Lego should be played with, though if I've only got 1 of a set, I can't mix it with my collection... only duplicates of a set get assimilated into the (...) (23 years ago, 22-May-01, to lugnet.general)

(...) When I purchase Lego sets, I build the sets once, then immediately disassemble them, sort the pieces according to my storage system, and then add the pieces to my storage containers. All pieces from all sets get assimilated into my collection (...) (23 years ago, 22-May-01, to lugnet.general)

i assemble all the sets when i get them. they stay assembled untill i need the parts. only my train sets, some starwars and a few other sets are 'immune' from full disassembly. however when i make a moc i intend to keep together i buy all the parts (...) (23 years ago, 24-May-01, to lugnet.general)

(...) Mainly because I am (until recently) not a double buyer, I've ALWAYS mixed my sets together. Everything I've ever gotten is all mixed in with everything else. Only within the last year have I doubled up on sets. I know I have at least ONE copy (...) (23 years ago, 30-May-01, to lugnet.general)
