A few months ago there were a couple of posts talking about this, and also
displaying closeup pictures of the new color; as well as the model set in
white.

(...) I think that this new color was called "VERDIGRIS", the color of old 'weathered' copper. A lot of new home furnishings today come in this color. Gary Istok (24 years ago, 9-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

I've never even heard of it until I stumbled upon it on the Lego website today, under Statues. There is the large minifig, and this huge 2.5 ft tall 2800 piece Statue of Liberty. Anyone? Jason F. (24 years ago, 6-Oct-00, to lugnet.general) !
