Re: Do these LEGO Windows exist??? —Frank Filz
(...) I decided to have a looksee at my windows. All of my white 1x3x2s are the old style. It looks to me like the little holes are for tabs on the "glass" to insert into - in fact I'm sure of it, just looked at a 1x6x2 window with shutters which (...)         Re: Do these LEGO Windows exist??? —Mike Poindexter
Not that I have tried, but would the glass inserts from the sloped windows work? I think they were like a 1x4x3, but they loped back a few studs, which would give them a longer opening, resulting in a taller piece of glass for the insert. Mike (...)          Re: Do these LEGO Windows exist??? —Tom Stangl
Nope, wouldn't work - the nubs on the glass are dead center, they need to be at one end to fit the 1x4x4 frames. (...) -- Tom Stangl ***(URL) Visual FAQ home ***(URL) Bay Area DSMs (24 years ago, 17-Sep-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

(...) They would _almost_ work. They're a millimeter or so too short. The other problem is that they have nubs in the center of the sides, not in the top and bottom. The side nubs cause the frame to be bowed out. Frank (24 years ago, 18-Sep-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

Re: Do these LEGO Windows exist??? —Gary Istok
(...) Frank, With the 1x6x2 shuttered windows, I have a few questions. Do your CA windows (type1) actually have a 6x2 (LxH) glass panel? Or do your CA windows have a 4x2 glass panel? And with your type 3 windows (the ones without the protruding (...) (24 years ago, 18-Sep-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

Re: Do these LEGO Windows exist??? —Frank Filz
(...) The CA windows have 2x6 glass. My "type 2" are the only ones with 2x4 glass. Until I looked the other day, I had assumed all the 1x6x2 shuttered windows took a 2x6 glass (I think I had moved a piece of glass between a 1x6x2 shuttered window (...)         Re: Do these LEGO Windows exist??? —Gary Istok
(...) Frank, You shouldn't have too much trouble telling ASB from CA as far as the red windows go. The white ones are a little harder to tell, but just look for a little warpage. When I get home tonight, I will be checking all my 1x6x3 classic (...) (24 years ago, 18-Sep-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

Re: Do these LEGO Windows exist??? —Gary Istok
(...) Boy Frank you sure did "open up a can of worms"....... I checked last night. I have about 130 of the red 1x6x2 shuttered windows. And I checked each and every one. And guess what. There are 6 (!!!!) varieties to this window. All of them can (...) (24 years ago, 19-Sep-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

Re: Do these LEGO Windows exist??? —Gary Istok
(...) Hey Frank, I know that you 've been hoarding those small yellow classic windows (1x1x1, 1x2x1, 1x1x2). Can you give me a breakdown of the ones you have, and their type. My population in these is not as big as I would like (never is), but they (...) (24 years ago, 20-Sep-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

Re: Do these LEGO Windows exist??? —Gary Istok
(...) Thanks Ben, I guess Frank is busy right now. :-) I also have some of the 1x2x1 and 1x1x2 windows in red or white without the glass (some are in mint condition). Most of these are from Germany. Were these always supposed to have the glass? If (...) (24 years ago, 20-Sep-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

Re: Do these LEGO Windows exist??? —Gary Istok
(...) Good God Frank, this must have taken you a lot of time! Thanks for the update. I think that with CA windows, only the 1x6x2 shuttered window had more than 2 versions. All other CA windows had only 2 styles - the 1957 version, and the 1958-64 (...) (24 years ago, 21-Sep-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)
