That's what I was wondering
If the theme's have been cancelled, why the new minifig packs? Maybe there
were going to be new additions (sets) to the themes, and the themes were
cancelled before they could use them? ALthough this begs the question," Why
was chief not included in the original RR series?", he existed during the r&d
stages.
Were the green ninja's brought in to counter the fire ninja's? The cards they
come with say they are heroes. (btw, the cards also say that the emperor is a
Hero, in direct contradiction to other published Lego sources.) Very
convoluting. For a company that is so together on most issues, they sure have
screwed up the Ninja theme's mythology, and the Wild West's for that matter.
It would make sense that TLG is clearing out the already produced pieces for
these cancelled themes while they still can. They can re-use the bricks, but
green ninja's?, the only way to re-use those would be to throw them back into
the the smelter. These are questions that will probably never be answered so
let's speculate! JOn
