this is a warning to my fellow lego enthusiasts that may be interested in
buying items from the Brickyard/ Gene Rodriguez. as of today Gene owes

I have ordered for Gene numerous times and he has always come through, I can't
explain the lack of response, but we don't here these "warnings" when it is
months from payment to delivery on Auczilla sales.  Things come up and I don't
think any of us rely on LEGO for daily bread.  As with everyone else give Gene
a chance.

While I have not used Brickyard, I certainly have used AucZilla.

We don't see these "warnings" for AucZilla because Todd is very up front about
the fact that it is a long time between end of auction and shipment (and we
certainly see plenty of "hey, were are my winnings? Todd are you still alive?"
posts - which if I was a new kid on the block, I would interpret as just as
bad as a "warning: such and such a seller has had my payment for so many
months and I haven't seen anything".

Sellers do owe it to their buyers to try and let the buyers know if there will
be a delay of more than a week or two. They certainly should respond to e-
mail. If a seller doesn't respond within a few weeks of receiving payment, it
is reasonable to starty asking here.

We also should not judge the buyers. I always see these "LEGO is not your
daily bread" responses. While that is hopefully true for most of us, I'm sure
many of us have pretty tight budgets (and some of us make humongous purchases,
would you fault Larry for complaining if a multi-thousand dollar purchase
seemed to be lost?) and may feel the pain of losing a purchase. We should
never assume "Oh, he can get over that $5 loss, after all, it only takes 5
minutes to make that." (of course it takes a little longer than 5 minutes to
make that at McDonalds, and for a kid spending his allowance, that may be a
significant part of his weeks allowance).
