In 1957 LEGO came out with the classic windows (9 different) and the
classic door.  In 1958 LEGO came out with the binding brick with tubes
underneath.  In 1962 they came out with LEGO wheels.

Here's a little quiz.  Out of the thousands of pieces LEGO makes today,
only 15 have been around since 1957.  Name them.  (Hint:  some pieces
have undergone some changes, but they are still the same basic pieces).

Clarification please? would you count the 2x4 brick as the same? I wouldn't.
Adding tubes is enough of a radical difference to not be the "same". Ditto for
the 2x8 plate, changing from that squarish pattern to the current short tube
and pin approach is a big change.

But it's your quiz, what did you mean?

Yes Larry I am including those type of pieces, since it still is a 2x4.  There are
so many sublte as well as large changes (in some instances), but if you allowed no
slack at all the actual number would probably be "1" piece, the 1x1 brick.  ALL
other pieces have undergone at least some changes.

And if you really wanted to get technical, it would be 0.  The 1x1 brick used to
be side injected, but is now top injected.  This means no more unsightly
injection point on one side of the brick.

So let's say how many pieces have "evolved" but are still in production 43 years
later.  :-)
