LEGO Architectural Postcards —Gary R. Istok
I received (on loan) a set of 30 postcards from a USA collector recently (I won't divulge his name in case he minds me doing so). These postcards are from the "L'Architecture... c'est un jeu magnifique" (Architecture is a wonderful game) LEGO (...) (25 years ago, 24-Feb-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: LEGO Architectural Postcards —Gary R. Istok
(...) Ooops, Todd just reminded me to put this in PUBLISH. I just went out there and checked all 1586 message headers (I've never gone there before, who has the time!), but none were related to this topic (as far as I can tell). So I'll cross post (...)           Re: LEGO Architectural Postcards —Gary R. Istok
(...) No, these are not TLC creations. These were created by European architects, and I don't believe that there are any pictures in The Ultimate LEGO book, but I'm not 100% sure. But they are found throughout THE WORLD OF LEGO TOYS book. All (...) (25 years ago, 25-Feb-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.publish)

(...) Frank, I'm afraid I'm not familiar with "The Gate of the Present", so I can't answer that one. Gary Istok (25 years ago, 25-Feb-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.publish)

Re: LEGO Architectural Postcards —Jacob Sparre Andersen
[ IANAL ] Gary: (...) The basic question in this is (as I see it): - Has LEGO bought the right to distribute pictures of the models as they see fit? I would guess that, but I don't know. If the answer to this question is affirmative, it would be (...) (25 years ago, 25-Feb-00, to lugnet.publish)

Re: LEGO Architectural Postcards —Frank Filz
(...) Actually, I think that if the copyrights are held by someone other than TLC, then TLC's fair use policy would not allow us to publish them. (...) My personal feeling would be that they are not appropriate to be published if they are something (...) (25 years ago, 25-Feb-00, to lugnet.publish)

So your (probably flawed) interpretation of The Lego Group's stance towards this sort of thing keeps you from posting scans that many others could enjoy? How sad. Regrettable. Why (...)         Re: LEGO Architectural Postcards —Phil Traviss
I have the official softback book of the results of this contest - I can check whether it has an ISBN and/or if it has any copyright statements in it if you like. Without digging it out, I'm not sure if it was an official LEGO publication or not. I (...) (25 years ago, 25-Feb-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: LEGO Architectural Postcards —Robert Farver
(...) For the record, these are my postcards, a lot that I won on Ebay quite a while back. I'd been meaning to scan them and get them to Gary, but finally ended up loaning them to him so he could scan them. As to posting them, I have 4 of them (...)         Re: LEGO Architectural Postcards —Jim Hughes
(...) Gary, the book <<L'architecture est jeu... magnifique>> is copyrighted 1986 Groupe LEGO, so the postcards, which are the photographs of all 30 of the buildings in the book, would conceivably by regulated by the Lego Fair Play statements.
