January 2000 S@H catalog —Maggie Cambron
The new catalog came in a package my sister got for my boys. Haven't had time to really look, but here are a few items I found interesting: The Royal Family inhabiting King Leo's Castle consists of King Leo, Queen Leonora and Princess Storm. The (...)      (...) OK...of the queen and the princess, which is which? I don't think either of the female minifigs looks anywhere near old enough to be married to Leo... is he robbing the cradle (as well as having an axe fetish)? J (25 years ago, 26-Dec-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.castle)

(...) Are You suggesting ill of Good king Leo.... Hmmmm..... Well then lets revolt and chop his head off and make Lord Nelson....King Nelson! I hear he is a great chap! And his kingdom is doing swell too! I'll check on a price for a French (...) (25 years ago, 26-Dec-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.castle)

(...) Hmmm, I just looked at this box at KMART yesterday. In French it says: "Coeur de Leon" which translates to "Lion Hearted", which would make it Richard I the Lion Hearted (1189-1199) King of England and the Angevin lands of France (Brittany, (...)       (...) 'Leo' also translates to 'lion'. Also, wasn't the british name for 6008 (Royal King) "Richard the Lion-Hearted"? Maybe KK *is* RK years down the road, as someone previously suggested... J (25 years ago, 3-Jan-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.castle)

(...) Queen Leonora is in the pointy hat with the blue dress and red jacket. She has brown curls framing her face. In the catalog she looks rather matronly IMHO. Princess Storm is in form fitting body armor and a Don Quixote-esque hat. I like her (...) (25 years ago, 26-Dec-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.castle)

(...) Wow, that should have been the first thing I looked at! They still have the two separate pages-- one with mainly bricks and plates, and the other with the miscellaneous packs.      (...) Does "limited quanties" apply to baseplates? I hope not, if not, better order a lot of those X-Large grey baseplates. It is sad to see it, but I just think of it as clearing out to bring in LEGO Direct. (25 years ago, 27-Dec-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)
