I have to say that I agree with Fredrik here. While I appreciate the effort
Jonathan, I really don't want someone speaking for me about "what I want".
Now, I realize that your list is based on many valuable hours of Lugnet
reading and research, and that the issues you covered are going to be ones
that come up again and again. But your list as written is not my list, and
even if it was voted on as a submission of ideas, mabie it could contain less
typos ;)
I definitely could care less about more Star Wars, as an example.
But what I see here going on to some degree is a bit of a feeding frenzy type
atmosphere. The whole idea of Lego getting involved with AFOLs in a
constructive way has set off everyone's imaginations in the best possible
way. Just imagine the possibilities! But at the same time, a lot of people
seem to be vying for the spot on the right hand of the TLG's Chairman's
throne. Who will it be that gets to whisper in the king's ear the people's
wishes? All right, all right, that's a bit cynical. Lugnet is very open, and
anybody can post a message, but I want to avoid wrangling and constantly
debating a whole bunch of lists that supposedly represent what "we" want.
There's got to be a better way. My guess is that over time, Todd or some
enterprising person here will come up with a form for submitting input that
could be submitted and analyzed by TLG. I sure hope TLG doesn't come up with
the form...yeesh. It's gotta come from us, after lots of input as to what the
form should look like. But Jonathan, it's inevitable that something like that
will finally be the way we get our input. I also think that letters like
yours will continue to be very valuable to TLG and us as platforms for
discussion, but remember....you don't speak for me.
