Actually, my wife is a bit more understanding, in fact she is one of my main
lego set finders. She is always ringing me up from stores to say she has come
across set number so and so, at a knockdown price (why else do you think I
gave here that mobile phone?), and always comes back from car boot sales with
some lego finds for me (and any money she has left over I allow her to get her
self some new clothes whilst she is there). (only joking ladies!)
And she is actually the most patient brick sorter you could imagine, but
doesnt have much interest in building (though she plays along with the family
with the stuff we have built)
Unfortunately, she puts her foot down at us laying our considerable train
collection down around the house. When we do, it usually only lasts a day or
so, before we are summond to remove it. I dream of a permanent home for it
(loft conversion one day)
My expenditure on lego is allowed as it is matched by her and my daughters
expenditure on Beanie Babies.

lawrence
