If Lego is moving more towards 'play' than 'build' as some as suggested, by
which they mean more 'themed' sets with lots of theme specific parts, but less
actual bricks, then perhaps we will see more movie licences like Star Wars to
make the sets appeal to collectors of the movie memorabilia, not just lego
fans.

So what Movie themes would you like to see?
Some are already evident/obvious in the new sets

Jurrassic Park - the adventurers in 2000, with the dinos
Indiana Jones - adventurers, again in 2000 with the aztec jungle look. All we
need is a rolling ball, lots of sprung traps...
Ice Station Zebra - Artic in 2000 (who remembers that film though?)
Armagedon - mix space port (the shuttle) and Rock raiders (the drills)

What about
James Bond - all those inventions by Q in lego. A minifig JB, and minifig
babes and badies. And of course those OTT bases the badies always have.
Alien - Space, but with some Alien figs, lots of grids in the space ship
2001 - appropriate theme for end of next year perhaps. the space vehicles
Titanic - bring back ship hulls
Terminator - A technic Terminator (a la 8001 SW droid)

Need some to make them bring back more castle, pirates and train. Not many
recent pirate films besides Cutthroat Island.
Any suggestions?

regards
lawrence

(...) None. I like the fact that LEGO is generally *not* tied in to every passing fad. Well, that's they way they used to be. Steve (25 years ago, 12-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)
