  Halloween Contest ?

Hi All, I know it's still 2 months out, but does anybody know if there is going to be a Halloween MOCkery contest (or equivalent) this year? James? Fingers are crossed on this end ... there's been something brewing for several months here! Thanks, (...) (22 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.general)

  Re: In the beginning...

Thanks for reminding me of why I like these silly plastic bricks! It brought back some fond memories that tend to get forgotten when reading some of the stuff that goes on around here. James Wilson, Dallas, TX (22 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.fun, lugnet.general)

  Re: Minifig--I need a lawyer

(...) You shall have to start with a pinstriped suit & waistcoat: (URL) After that you'll have to browse heads and hair to find what you want. Good luck! Scott A (22 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Minifig--I need a lawyer

(...) Yea, yea, yea---I've made fun of them all my life too. But when you really need one, you really need one. Kind of like engineers. (URL) www.brickengraver.com (22 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Minifig--I need a lawyer

(...) I suggest the best choice is to pick minifigs that look like the two of them, same hair colour and style etc. (A lawyer needs a briefcase [suitcase] and a suit jacket, both of which you can find - if browse through the catalogue section under (...)   Minifig--I need a lawyer

To tell you the truth, although I am I would say ensconced in the LEGO(r) community, I really am not familiar with all the myriad parts and especially minifigs (except of course The Reverend's"). I recently created a set of wooden veneered LEGO(r) (...) (22 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.general)

  In the beginning...

In another one of my 'bored at work days' I wonder some of the strangest of things, today’s thoughts are: In one way or another we all enjoy the wonders of LEGO from the past and present (ok, maybe not so highly of present, but still, in general)... (...) (22 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.fun, lugnet.general)

Re: Anyone know about these Lego Lamps??

Abner Finley brought them, but noted that the store he got them from was closing them out. So you might have to look pretty hard to find any of them (both the lights and the stereo). A real shame, too - I would have bought 2-3 of the stereos for my (...) (22 years ago, 23-Aug-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Future Lego Services.....

(...) A followup to the original post..... There were some other additional supplemental sets I was thinking on offering, such as supplemental accessories for making the new classic Lego sets (like the new USS Constellation model, new Main Street (...)   Re: suspended Bricklink shops

This thread seems to have engendered a lot of discussion. Not all of it is for the long term good of the community, I fear, which is regrettable. I'm hopeful that this post might slow some of it down. I have asked Dan privately to be reinstated. (...)   Re: suspended Bricklink shops

(...) I'm not all that good at explaining insanity, but I've been known to state the obvious facts of a situation pretty clearly. Bricklink is a business. If you don't like the way a business operates, do not use that service anymore. If the whole (...) (22 years ago, 23-Aug-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Attention all RSS geeks!

(...) I've become convinced that Atom might be a better solution. If only because it has better mechanisms to ensure that entries are identified uniquely, and support for meta information about authors, etc. (...) If we're using RSS, using a custom (...)   Re: suspended Bricklink shops

(...) But then the buyer has the risk of buying/ordering a service which is not available? In theory, I suppose the system could be set to offer no more than X sales per time-period or offer customers an indication of the estimated waiting time(?). (...)   Re: suspended Bricklink shops

(...) You could argue that -- it may become undesireable to list a service with infinite quantity if the service proves too popular ... I think that's best left up to the user, though. It would be a neat feature -- and I at least don;t it would skew (...) (22 years ago, 23-Aug-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: suspended Bricklink shops

(...) Does that not assume that the service provider's time is unlimited? I’d argue that a hobbyist would have a finite ability to offer a service. In the commercial world a non-specialist service provider would simply find a subcontractor, but a (...) (22 years ago, 23-Aug-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

what sets have the large pine tree?

I own 2 of the large pine trees, one is from the 10128 level crossing. The other I cant place, its almost certainly from something very recent.
