  Re: A first step

(...) That worries me a little too - that because she doesn't see me enjoying Duplo, that she will want to try the "little bricks" too early and then get frustrated. (...) I wonder what my daughter's first MOC will be. Brought up with 70's feminism (...) (22 years ago, 26-Jul-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: How far is BrickFest?

(...) My best estimate: somewhere over 8000 miles, about 22 hours flying! ROSCO (22 years ago, 26-Jul-04, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.fun.community, lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.us)

  Re: A first step

(...) Congratulations. (...) I agree with Tim. I think the opposite is the case. I have a six year old boy that was born four years before I came out of my 'dark age'. However, he's had Lego almost from birth, starting with Primo (which he wasn't (...) (22 years ago, 26-Jul-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: A first step

(...) I don't know ... but I would think the exact opposite. I think it would stimulate her growth and development, and help her see the bricks in a non-traditional studs-up fashion. She'll grow to have better building skills than a child not (...) (22 years ago, 26-Jul-04, to lugnet.general)

  A first step

Yesterday was a wonderful first for our family. My 20 month-old daughter attached 2 2*4 bricks together for the first time! Its great to see the delighted look on her face when I open the box of basic bricks with its bags of pretty colours, the (...) (22 years ago, 26-Jul-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Pick-a-Brick inventories

(...) The Brand Retail stores in the North East have had VERY little turnover in the last 6 months. Usually, the only time something new is placed on the wall is when one part runs out. This does not occur very frequently. None of the employees like (...) (22 years ago, 25-Jul-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Pick-a-Brick inventories

(...) I know at LLCA the location of the parts DOES change - mostly when new items are added, but it does change. Mark P (22 years ago, 24-Jul-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Brickshelf and ads

(...) Would you consider a lifetime membership system? (22 years ago, 24-Jul-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Pick-a-Brick inventories

(...) This "wall format" is very beautiful but can only be used for one single store. We would need a different document for every shop (they could all be derived from one database of course). I also wonder if they would keep the elements always in (...) (22 years ago, 24-Jul-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Pick-a-Brick inventories

(...) I like your document. That would have made it easy to grab an initial inventory of a store. Once the initial inventory has been done, I take a sheet showing the last know location of all parts to easily verify if the contents of any bin has (...) (22 years ago, 24-Jul-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Brickshelf and ads

(...) With the notable exception of the homepage, which currently is static. That will change soon though so we can show a few thumbnails of highlighted folders there. (...) wow! that is a very generous donation. Keep in mind that donation levels (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jul-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Brickshelf and ads

"Øyvind Steinnes" <phoenix@online.no> wrote in message news:I1BprA.1E5A@lugnet.com... (...) at. (...) Forget this rant! I have just received an email from Kevin Loch that they have actually changed the Member Contribution System so that everyone (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jul-04, to lugnet.general)

  Brickshelf and ads

Is it just me who thinks there have been TOO much ads now at Brickshelf? The latest thing is that there is an large ad above each image you look at. Before that it was just an small ad at the bottom of each page, and one at the start insted of a (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jul-04, to lugnet.general)

  Pick-a-Brick inventories

(...) Later this season I'm going to LegoLand Billund. I intend to buy lots of elements to finish a large mosaic. But how do I know if the elements I want/need will be available over there?? (I believe I'm not the only one with this question) The (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jul-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: How far is BrickFest?

Continentally speaking I guess the PNLTCer's have the distance record... but to be fair I think Kelly gets it, he lives a bit further from the airport than Frank or I! SteveB (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jul-04, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.fun.community, lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.us)

Re: Do you mention Lego in interviews?

(...) I mentioned it to a couple interviewers, and I'm not sure how well that fact went over, but in general, I think it was beneficial. Helps kinda make you memorable and whatnot. (...) Probably depends on the job you're looking for, but I think in (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jul-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Do you mention Lego in interviews?

(...) At my last job interview I mentioned it, and I'm working here now so it couldn't have been *too* bad! The person I was talking to just asked what I like to do when I'm not being a computer programmer, I mentioned that I was part of a model (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jul-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Do you mention Lego in interviews?

(...) I mentioned it, and my potential employer is a First LEGO League coach..... It was a good thing to mention, I ugess, because I got the job. Kevin (22 years ago, 22-Jul-04, to lugnet.general)

  Lego Information

Hi All, I have been reading quite a few posts on the whole issue of TLC and where it is headed. So I took the time to go read what their corporate philosophy is. It is my firm belief that they are being consistent with their stated philosophy. It (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jul-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.color)
