  Re: Stunning new Maersk set?

Hi Huw, I saw the picture yesterday and I were immediately fascinated by this set. Today I called the german customer service and they said that it WILL be a shop@home exclusive set. The woman wasn't sure about the release date, but it should be in (...) (22 years ago, 14-May-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Stunning new Maersk set?

(...) Figures...Lego will only sell these to Maersk, and Maersk will only give them away to their buddies...sounds like a crock of crap to me. mutters under breath...   Re: BrickFest participants for 2004

(...) <snip> This is neat. I remember a few years back, someone created a really nice display shelf of minifigs that was made out of white Lego bricks. I spent half an hour of looking through old LUGNET posts but haven't been able to find it. Does (...) (22 years ago, 14-May-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Stunning new Maersk set?

(...) I spoke to Maersk marketing today and was told that they are only distributed as "gifts" to cargo shipping clients via the Maersk corporate sales team :( (22 years ago, 14-May-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Do you save boxes and catalogs?

(...) I'm quite interested in puting together a collection of the "Themed Flyers" for want of a better name for them. I'm referring to the single a4 / a3 sheet that comes in the box along with the building instructions. I'd be interested to know if (...) (22 years ago, 14-May-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Stunning new Maersk set?

(...) Wow. This looks real. In the slim chance it is a fake, the person responsible should be hired at Lego and put in charge of new set development!! If it is real, which I believe, thanks Lego!! Paul (22 years ago, 14-May-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Stunning new Maersk set?

(...) I just asked TLC, and it is indeed real!!! Cool! :-) But as expected, it will only be available through Maersk Sealand... Kecia (22 years ago, 14-May-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Stunning new Maersk set?

(...) Of course you are right to be cautious, but if it is a fake, I doubt it was a faked photo. Whoever faked it, faked the box itself. The seems and lighting are just too prefect to be edited in the photo. Not that its hard to fake boxes, but they (...) (22 years ago, 14-May-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Missing Pieces

(...) I had a lot of trouble with that regarding the Chrome Knights Kingdom sets. After a while I became paranoid and counted every brick while sorting. Looks like I'll have to keep my eyes open again. (22 years ago, 14-May-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Stunning new Maersk set?

Again, I'm not holding my breath on this one, but most Promotional sets are packed much tighter than normal sets, most likely because they don't need to worry about Shelf Presence (and many are Airline promotions, which NEED to be as dense as (...) (22 years ago, 14-May-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Stunning new Maersk set?

(...) I hope its not real -- Lego has said many times that the Maersk color was not a current color -- and if it turns out to be a current color that would not hold up well for thier already shakey ground they are standig on. Also, its hard to grasp (...) (22 years ago, 14-May-04, to lugnet.general)

  Missing Pieces

Does anyone else have this problem? I buy a couple sets a week. This week there were some good sales and clearance items, so I've purchased half a dozen sets this week. At this pace, every few months I run across a set that has a missing piece. The (...) (22 years ago, 13-May-04, to lugnet.general)

Pictures from Billund (and the vault)

Each year De Bouwsteen (Dutch LEGO club, name translates to The BuildBrick) organizes a trip to Billund for it's members. This year's visit was another big success.   Re: Do you save boxes and catalogs?

(...) I recycle boxes from new sets. If I buy an old set with its box, I make a half-hearted effort to sell the box on ebay or to a member of my LUG. If that doesn't pan out, I recycle it too. The only boxes I have kept are the plastic tubs from the (...) (22 years ago, 13-May-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Stunning new Maersk set?

(...) The set number looks right. Its numbered right after the new legend Hotrod 10151. And nothing else looks off in the Brickshelf directory. Could be, but why no "Hey, look what I saw !!..." type post. I'm too skeptical to believe it yet. Mike (22 years ago, 13-May-04, to lugnet.general)
