  LEGO sucks!

Jake, please, please shut up! Do you believe what you are writing? We don`t need your way of community development. I give you a good hint: Look for another job! We don`t trust in any word from you nor TLC. Tomorrow white will die, then red, (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego)

Re: Color Change - Final Update

[snipped lots of not positive blabla] (...) I do not feel understod at all. If this is your final update, you have finally lost a consumer, a big fan, a big supporter and promoter. My buys for this years sets is less than 1% of what I bought in the (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego)

Re: Update: Universal colors - beginnings

(...) I wondered about some numbers, so I consulted Peeron: Those named above are 9 most used colours (minus the 'new' word, of course). These account for 91% percents of parts used in all sets. Original Gray is #2 (15.4%), DkGray #7 (3.9%), Brown (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego)

  Re: Jake did good Thanks!!

(...) Yep. If I thought ranting and carrying on would increase our influence in the company rather than diminish it, or would be likely to reverse the change, I'd be out there ranting too. (...) Agreed. Jake started out as in charge of some aspects (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Update: Universal colors - beginnings

(...) ... Hi, and at the purple colour you have to think about a little more, how the exact colour has to look like, hmm? What other colours will you try in a wild mix in one set like the HP-bus? Maybe some sorts of tan in the next starwars-set? Or (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego)

Re: Update: Universal colors - beginnings

(...) red green blue yellow white black new light gray new dark gray new brown Funny thing: Remove the 3 new colors, add back the 3 old colors plus tan (I'm indifferent to tan, but I know a lot of people love it) and I would bet 9 out of 10 of us (...)   Re: Jake did good Thanks!!

(...) Well, there are several levels of truth to be considered in this context. 1. The information is "true" insofar as it accurately reflects the motivations and goals of TLG 2. The information is "true" insofar as it is "truly" the information (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Color Change - Final Update

(...) In all seriousness, do you suppose that this is how MEGABLOKS does it? I've noticed for years that their "white" is more "white" than LEGO "white," but I never knew the underlying reason. Is there a simple, reliable way to discern the (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego, FTX)

  Re: Jake did good Thanks!!

(...) Actually, I'm not being that magnanamous. I don't like the color change and if ranting or anything else might get it reversed I will rant. My point was rather that I can't understand why people are questioning that TLC's reasons as given by (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Color Change - Final Update

(...) That's part of the problem. You do get much greater accuracy as you increase the size of the batch. It's also probably a lot easier to do with sheet extrusion than with injection molding, where you have a constant flow of a large amount of (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Color Change - Final Update

(...) I doubt it very much. Natural ABS is a slightly translucent cream color, and white is probably the hardest color to achieve. Heavy metal pigments are no longer legal in the US (which is why brown/tan plastic electrical fixtures are no longer (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego, FTX)

  Re: Jake did good Thanks!!

(...) I didn't say children don't care about color or are incapable of noticing a color change. My response is to those who question: if the color change is really an improvement then why Lego doesn't hype the color change to their target market in (...)   Update: Universal colors - beginnings

Many people have asked what colors are currently considered "universal" or locked. This means that these colors will almost certainly never be changed. Universal colors are colors that we consider to be untouchable for change. While the final list (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego, lugnet.announce) !!

Re: Photos of The Vault / 'new' classic space set?

(...) I was allowed to take photos in the upper level of the Idea House, with the mock toy store, original molds, and 1950s toy store museum (which you have photos posted of). Also, I took them in the basement outside of the vault, with (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Jake did good Thanks!!

(...) I agree whole-heartedly. I have my issues with the company's direction and some of the decisions they make. But the fact is, I'm not sitting in their meetings and I don't have the information they have. We can all keep ranting about how we (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Jake did good Thanks!!

(...) I think you may be missing some subtilty in the argument here. My son may be a good example of this. He is definitely drawn to certain colours and exciting images when shopping. However... when building his own creations he does not seem to (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Color Change - Final Update

(...) My sentiments exactly. About 5 years ago I packed up my h0 layout, due to time shortage and high cost. Right now LEGO is almost as expensive and I'll have loads more time now that I won't be doing much MOC's anymore either. (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego)
