  Re: The AFOL mind

(...) Funny you should mention that...I had a conversaton sorta like that at our post LUG dinner a couple of weeks ago. (...) I have that same situation, except I don't work out, play guitar and work hard:). What's been funny to me is that this is (...) (22 years ago, 4-Apr-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: The AFOL mind

(...) Hi Felix, Yes, we're all dorks! We're probably "nerdy" too! But the truth is, "who cares"? I've found the greatest, most interesting, friendliest, and gracious people who fit the "dork" or "nerd" description. I often find those that don't fit (...)   Re: The AFOL mind

(...) I'd never analysed the difference between nerd, dork, geek etc..., not wanting to identify myself as any of them. I think that others' opinion of a Lego fan being any of those things depends on how you put it across. OK, so there's a range of (...) (22 years ago, 3-Apr-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: The AFOL mind

(...) I think you're a cool guy Felix. After all, you ARE Jack Stone! ;) I don't know if this adds to the discussion, but I'll talk about it anyway, though I'm sure Lugnet is tired of me talking about it. This last weekend, TexLUG held it's (...) (22 years ago, 3-Apr-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Dear LEGO...

Jake, ...or whatever other LEGO representative that might be reading this... Why has Canada been left out of this big list of LEGO store openings?!?! Not to ignore other countries, but Canada actually had a LEGO S@H until a couple years ago, and (...)   The AFOL mind

I've found a conversation seems to come up a lot in reference to AFOLs. Are we a bunch of dorks? Is what we do just nerdy? I have had this conversation with AFOLs and nonAFOLs alike. I think I'm a cool guy. I can relate to other guys- I workout, (...) (22 years ago, 3-Apr-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Different mold on 1x6, 1x8

OH BOY Rosco you just NOW looked at the bottom? You know, Clark has been tracking this for AGES... The "new" brick looks to be just molded in an older mold, as they seems to vary from set to set for me, sometimes I get the ones with the holes in the (...)   Re: Different mold on 1x6, 1x8

(...) I did a little check on my 1xn bricks and saw this "problem" on all types and colours, from 1x2 to 1x8. In my opinion, there are two or more moulds, each with a little difference, and they change them every now and then. (For cleaning and (...)   Re: Different mold on 1x6, 1x8

I think it would be a good idea to add the new styles of 1X6 and 1X8 bricks to Bricklink as parts 3009b and 3008b respectively. You already have the pictures, so you could add them too. Then in the future, people would know which kind of underside (...) (22 years ago, 3-Apr-04, to lugnet.general)

  Different mold on 1x6, 1x8

Has anyone else noticed this? It seems newer 1x6 & 1x8 bricks have a different mold. See this comparison: (URL) older brick on the left has holes in the bottom studs, but more importantly, the flanges on studs 2 & 4 don't go all the way to the (...)
