Re: Is it that big a deal??

(...) Yes, it's a big deal. LEGO has been a rock. The bricks today still mate with the bricks that say PAT PENDING. The 1st red is today's red. Change for the sake of growth is good. Change for the sake of change is very bad. They can come up with (...) (22 years ago, 20-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Petition against permanent color changes

(...) Well, the obvious suggestion is that you not read my posts, since you've correctly identified my opinion re MEGA BLOKS. And let's be fair. My post was a rather obvious jest meant for John, an avowed clone-shunner. Anyway, I usually only post (...) (22 years ago, 20-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Petition against permanent color changes

(...) Please see (URL) here> If your only complaint is the quality of cohesion then this is no longer a real issue with Mega Bloks. If you are insistent on LEGO brand just for the sake of the name than I respect that. For the record I do not mix the (...) (22 years ago, 20-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  If It Ain't Broke...

The best (only?) good thing anyone has managed to say about the impending color change is that it will open up new building possibilities. I fail to see how a very slight change to a color does this. The limited LEGO palette has always been an (...) (22 years ago, 20-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: Is it that big a deal??

(...) Uhhhhhh . . . if there are like 100 + colors, what are we angry about?? Sure, only, say, two and an half dozen are produced at any given time, but that's alot. I think it should be okay to alter four or so, it won't totally bring down a line (...) (22 years ago, 20-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Petition against permanent color changes

(...) I agree that having competitors is a good thing. (...) What I object to is the constant posting of the same old stuff. "Hey! MB is great!" It seems everytime Dave or Rich gets a chance to promote MB, there they are tooting that horn. "Hey! MB (...) (22 years ago, 20-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Petition against permanent color changes

(...) Never underestimate the competition. I happen to think that competitiors such as Mega-Bloks and the other (legal) clones are good for AFOLs. They keep TLC on their toes, and that is a Good Thing®. That is the free market in action. I'm just (...) (22 years ago, 20-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Traumatic Events in the Life of a Lego Fan

(...) Actually, there's very good point to this. But it also got me thinking that if uniformity is what is really desired, you can still achieve a very nice effect by cycling through a small set of colors in a fixed order... say alternate between (...) (22 years ago, 20-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

In lugnet.lego, Jake McKee wrote: snip (...) Thanks for taking your time, Jake! As you might have guessed, I am among the people who do not like the idea of a (very common and very basic) colour being discontinued and exchanged against a new one. It (...)
