Re: Best Lego Year of all time?

(...) 2003. By far and away. You have Mindstorms, LEGENDS, bulk bricks, MOC series, licenses, new colors... the list goes on. The past pales in comparison IMO. I really believe that the present is the golden age of LEGO. JOHN (22 years ago, 25-Feb-03, to lugnet.general)

Shoes (was Re: Brick Testament in Trouble?

(...) Well, CLEARLY wearing footwear does. EVERYONE knows that! (1) See what shoes did to Imelda Marcos? QED. 1 - Apologies to any "Life of Brian" or "Red Shoe Diaries" fans out there XFUT o-t.fun... any more SERIOUS replies ought to go to (...)   Re: Brick Testament in Trouble?

(...) I think the issue is one of *propriety ownership*. The "minifig" image is intellectual property of TLC and a direct reflection of their brand, and we all know how protective TLC is about their brand (rightly and justifiably so). If they see (...)   Re: Brick Testament in Trouble?

(...) That's not an unreasonable interpretation, though one needs to be careful to avoid baby-with-the-bathwater reasoning. Brendan can hardly be held accountable for the actions of his audience, just as Martin Scorsese can't be blamed for (...) (22 years ago, 25-Feb-03, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.general)

Best Lego Year of all time?

While I was browsing the catalogs, I had this idea... I'd like to know what the consensus is as to which year saw Lego as truly the TOP of its game. After browsing the Brickshelf catalogs, I'd have to say 1980. Second batch of models for Technic (...) (22 years ago, 25-Feb-03, to lugnet.general) !

Re: New Poll, do you keep or scrap MOCs for parts?

(...) All because you didn't trial run it first. But I have to ask, more fundamentally... Why even have a poll at all? the answers we've seen so far seem open ended, every person that's posted in response has had a quite interesting story about how (...)   Re: Cleaning/Reparing electrical items

(...) I've also since managed to repair a 4.5V train carriage roof (thanks to the Brickish Association member who supplied me a broken one for price of postage). I might see if I can put a page together with photographs in the near future. Peter (22 years ago, 25-Feb-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains, lugnet.faq)

Re: Where did the lego's go?

(...) I was expecting to get to the end of your long message and see "it was all a dream", since much of it seems pretty fanciful to me. Here in San Francisco every TRU and Target has *plenty* of shelf-feet of Lego; several Targets even have an (...) (22 years ago, 25-Feb-03, to lugnet.general)

  Re: ozBricks Fans Websites

(...) Thanks (...) and Adventurers, Aquazone, Belville, Fabuland, Football/Basketball/Soccer Harry Potter, Scala, Town, Underground and Western. (...)   Re: New Poll, do you keep or scrap MOCs for parts?

(...) Geez, I knew it! Another poll of mine torn apart because of the wording. I'm not going to sit here and waste my time with more lecturing on poll etiquette, so forget about it and move on. The better answers might have (...) Okay, I don't see (...) (22 years ago, 25-Feb-03, to lugnet.general)
