Re: What's your: Desert Island Set?

(...) 6414 Dolphin Point of course! Except that at the moment I can't even think of three other minifigs I'd want to be stranded with. Just leave me alone with the ice cream bars and I'll turn on the lighthouse beacon when I'm ready to be rescued (...) (22 years ago, 12-Feb-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: What's your: Desert Island Set?

I'd go with 5590 or 5591 - I could get home or get around the island, whichever one I liked. PS - I'd prefer an Arctic desert island.... Paul Sinasohn LUGNET #115 BAYLUG (22 years ago, 11-Feb-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: What's your: Desert Island Set?

(...) If I had access to a computer, 120V AC outlet, and an unlimited supply of AA batteries, I'd choose the RIS 2.0 (URL) considering it's a real desert island, I'd have to go with a non-electronic set. Perhaps: (URL) has a good selection of parts, (...) (22 years ago, 11-Feb-03, to lugnet.general)

This is actually a cool idea was: Re: Banished to .fabuland - for today

As nuts as this is I think Eric might be on to something. This might me a neat idea to blow the dust off of some quiet groups, or at least learn something new and have some fun. I hearby banish myself to lugnet.basic for 24 hours [ j o n ] -- | Lego (...) (22 years ago, 11-Feb-03, to lugnet.fabuland, lugnet.general)

Re: What's your: Desert Island Set?

(...) Any set that included a catalogue that would allow me to order more Lego! (I imagine those planes flying by dropping old wooden crates with the Lego Logo stamped on them.) :) Good thread, and some very great responses so far! Cheers, -Hendo (22 years ago, 11-Feb-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: What's your: Desert Island Set?

(...) Assuming the island would be in the tropics, the set I'd choose would be #6595 Surf Shack (for obvious reasons). BUT if it were an island in a more "harsh" environment, perhaps it might be nice to take a LEGO house with me - I'm thinking #6372 (...) (22 years ago, 11-Feb-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: What's your: Desert Island Set?

(...) No brainer here! I'd have to have set 6286 "Skulls Eye Schooner"! Then the island would be either a base for my pirating operations or a place to bury the booty (oops, that would be a secret)! ARRGGHH! ahoy mates, Tom (22 years ago, 11-Feb-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: What's your: Desert Island Set?

(...) Great topic! I think I would take 6387 Coastal Rescue Base or 6342 Beach Rescue Chopper -- so I could get off the desert island. :) -Kevin (22 years ago, 11-Feb-03, to lugnet.general)

  What's your: Desert Island Set?

If you were stranded on a desert island, and could only take one set with you, which set would it be and why? Mine might have to be 6420 - Mail Carrier, I'd always have mail, and a bicycle. :) Jennifer (22 years ago, 11-Feb-03, to lugnet.general) !

  Re: 6335 Stickers

Re: Lego colors compared to PANTONE (TM) or HKS

(...) I finished being a grad student last year, but I still think I might be able to use a spectrometer. :-) But I don't think we have one in the lab where I work now. :-( I will check it, when my LEGO arrives in town.   Re: 8448 Rally Car

  Re: buckets

Actually, they're both pretty good value. The 4107 is 1000 pieces, not 600 and it's not too bad. Obviously, it's not quite as good as the classic 3033 (it has more smaller bricks and not as many larger 1 x 8's etc), but it does have gray, dark gray (...) Since I was early to meet my family at the skating rink, I stopped off at Target hoping that perhaps some old 8880 sets may have materialized (hey, gotta fantasize about something!).
