| Hmmm. I have an old set of letters and numbers (incomplete now) that were stamped on the sides of white 1x1 elements. I understand about the need for a "pure" LEGO solution, but it's amazing what a bit of Letraset or even an inkjet printer on sticky (...) | Since I have both, I would say that the 8480 is better part-wise. Many more gears than the 8880, and the 8480 also has 2 motors. HOWEVER, if you have the choice right now, get the 8880 ... the supplies are dwindling fast (especially for an unopened (...) (26 years ago, 1-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)
