It must be a good book,
because all the pages were so beat up I sometimes didnt know what page I was
on. Or maybe it was just an old book?

they would have the Thumb, otherwise known as
a Sub-Etha signalling device. This device would have none as the value
for all the normal ship characteristics. Instead, the device is the means by
which the hitchhikers teleport to other ships and catch a ride.

ok what about no teleporting in some sectors. Something to think about.

2) The Hitchhikers would also carry (tada) the Hitchhikers Guide to the
Galaxy, the most complete reference book ever published.

| (...) Yes, the teleporting issue. Well, I'm thinking the ship has to be in the same sub-sector for the device to work. | Hey, all I just had a great thought today... The day before yesterday, I found and played the online version of a text-adventure game: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. (found here: (URL)). I liked it so much, I decided I'd go down to the (...) (21 years ago, 29-Feb-04, to lugnet.gaming.starship, FTX)
