Very nice pumpkin patch.  Have you tried putting the patch on a brown or
tan base?  The contrast might help show off the vines better.  It's hard to
judge from the photos how well they stand out in person against the green,
so maybe it's not an issue.

I had not considered baseplates of another color - that's a great idea.  I
think I have enough brown plates to cover a good-sized area.  I'll put a
layer of them down first on the green baseplate and then the pumpkin plants
on top of the brown "garden area".  Many thanks for the idea.

If you want some pumpkins of different sizes, take a look at the pumpkin
I used by the front door of my Halloween Haunted House.

The 2 orange pieces are from the Mos Espa Podrace set (7171).  They're
held together by a technic half-pin and topped with a black round 1x1 plate.

I remember seeing these pictures before but had forgotten about the pumpkin
that was pictured.  That's a great idea and use of these parts.  I think I
have some of those parts in orange also.

As far as trick-or-treaters go - it occurred to me the other day that it
would be good to whip up some of these using the new stubby legs that show
up on the ewoks and Yoda.  The color choice is limited (tan and brown I
think) but it would make them look more like kids compared to other mini-figs.

Thanks for taking time to post about the patch.

Greg

(...) First off, I want to say that your pumpkin patch looks great. I would love to throw one together. (But I'm not going to buy those beads at those prices, so I gues I'll just have to dream.) About the Stubbies™, look here: (URL) in a Harry (...) (22 years ago, 18-Sep-02, to lugnet.fun.holiday)
