Re: Am I the only one ?.........

(...) How?... well, if you're a teenager, it's pretty simple; you just *don't* have the money. Heh. Maybe I could scrounge up $20 for a set, but what little money I have has to cover all my expenses, excluding food and some clothes. So what can I (...)   Re: Am I the only one ?.........

$10-$20 a week, man when I was a kid I was lucky to get $20 a year to buy Lego. Now that I am all growed up an married I get a little more, but I must emphasize little. Budgeting is the key, but man how can you pass up an $80 set for $20 on (...) (24 years ago, 5-Oct-00, to lugnet.faq)

Re: Am I the only one ?.........

I get only $20 a month of LEGO money, but I save up to $5 per week of my lunch money to get more. Being an AFOL is going to be great. (...) (24 years ago, 5-Oct-00, to lugnet.faq)

Re: Am I the only one ?.........

(...) I remember it well, except that the amount was $10 per week trying to buy sets like (URL) or (URL) Doesn't sound too tough? Remember, we didn't benefit from the resources of a great site like Lugnet. Having the money is one thing. Finding the (...) (24 years ago, 5-Oct-00, to lugnet.faq)

Re: Am I the only one ?.........

(...) I'll join the ranks...I'm 15 and have been part of the community for 3 years, been into Lego for at least 7 or 8 years. "Young" AFOLs are the most unfortunate, as we share the same characteristics as "normal" AFOLs except that most of us don't (...) (24 years ago, 5-Oct-00, to lugnet.faq)

Re: Am I the only one ?.........

It seems that way, but from the replies you got I see that it isn't. I'm 13. (...) (24 years ago, 5-Oct-00, to lugnet.faq)

Re: Am I the only one ?.........

(...) Just noticed this thread, and wish I would have seen it earlier. I'm 18, and I've been frequenting Lugnet for a long time and RTL before that. YAFOLs rejoice, for we are legion! -Jeremiah- (24 years ago, 5-Oct-00, to lugnet.faq)

Re: Am I the only one ?.........

I would qualify as a teenager. I'm 15, and when I first got here, I think I was 13 or 14. You're not the only one! --Tobias (...) (24 years ago, 5-Oct-00, to lugnet.faq)

  Re: dead links

(...) Jeremy Sproat and a couple others were working on it a while back and made quite a bit of progress -- check the .faq group archives for old discussions -- but I think due to time considerations it has stagnated. One thing I'd like to see in a (...) (24 years ago, 4-Oct-00, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.faq)

  Re: dead links

I've been thinking about this as well. And I will volunteer my time toward creating either the database or the traditional faq. As it is, I often search the newsgroups for past answers and it is often fruitless, even when the information I seek is (...) (24 years ago, 4-Oct-00, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.faq)

  Re: dead links

This brings up a question of mine, which there might be an answer for but I am not clear on. Will there ever be a 'LUGNET FAQ' encompassing all of these?? Is there someone or some group of people working on assembling data for that? I'd certainly (...) (24 years ago, 4-Oct-00, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.faq)

Re: Acronym FAQ - FTX version

(...) That's just my opinion -- I think it makes the hobby sound like some kind of boys' club -- something for men only, which it isn't. But I may be overly sensitive. --Todd (24 years ago, 26-Sep-00, to lugnet.faq)

Todd Lehman wrote in message ... (...) are (...) should (...) haven't (...) Im sorry if it sounded sexistic, it was not my intention. I really thought it had almost the same (cant find the word) as "NLF: Non-Lego Friend/Fiancé/Fiancée" The dislike (...) (24 years ago, 26-Sep-00, to lugnet.faq)

Re: Acronym FAQ - FTX version

(...) You're joking, right? That's kinda sexist (IMHO), and an acronym FAQ should (IMHO) try to document popular accepted usage, not add new things that haven't reached some critical mass of usage. --Todd (24 years ago, 26-Sep-00, to lugnet.faq)

Re: Acronym FAQ - FTX version

I noticed the NLF acronym... Maybee this one can be usefull for us who are married ;-) "WAF" "Wife Acceptance Factor" I have to consider this factor each time i buy something not really important... Or when you move the furniture around the house to (...) (24 years ago, 26-Sep-00, to lugnet.faq)

Re: Am I the only one ?.........

(...) A little late replying to this one, but I was bored and wanted some reading material. Anyways, I'm 15 and I consider myself to be an AFOL also. Wilson (24 years ago, 31-Aug-00, to lugnet.faq)
