Perhaps you can help me by declaring your intentions.  Do you want to read
the FAQ as a consumer, or do you want to aid in its development?
I personally (huh huh :-) want to read the FAQ (huh-huh huh, he said -- oh
never mind) because FAQ's always contain lots of useful bits of information
that I didn't know and wouldn't have even thought to ask.

I'm not sure that I should post the HTML to the newsgroup; the HTML I
generate is around 300 KB.  And, it would look pretty ugly, reading an HTML
document in a news reader.

I've run it through Lynx; the resulting text is around 240 KB.  And, it's
formatted to aid in authoring new FAQ items, and not to be aesthetically
pleasing.  I *think* I'll post it; lemme look into it some more.

I will probably also start answering unanswered questions after I get a chance
to see what's missing. That is, if anyone ever gives me the chance.

Here's your chance!  You're more than welcome to post FAQ answers to this
newsgroup.  Items e-mailed to me will be included as well, though it would
benefit everyone better with it on the ng.

That would be great. So far, everything I've seen in this discussion group is
people talking about how to create a complex system to automate looking up
information (or something like that, I still haven't figured out what you're
all doing) and no actual FAQs.

This is actually important.  :-,  The formatting, while human-readable, will
allow a highly-automated FAQ browsing / searching system that will be
closely tied into the overall structure of LUGNET.  It should be
significantly different from ye olde traditional FAQ once the system is in
place; the questions will be segregated partly by user choice and partly by
category, for example.  But there will also be an option to read the entire
thing as a single document as well.

Cheers,
- jsproat
