That's sounds pretty cool. I would go even farther and have a randomly
selected acronym appear on any newsgroup page on LUGNET, say at the top
or something. It would be just like the taglines that used to appear
on BBS's in "The Old Days". By making it appear on every news page,
people would get through the entire acronym list pretty quickly.
I for one wouldn't see it if it was only on the home page, because I
don't often go there. I usually jump right to the news home page.
