Here are the most common problems with uploads:

1. Javascript must be enabled for the system to work.  You also have to
accept cookies from brickshelf.com or the system will not remember you are
logged in and you won't see the command links (upload, create folder etc)

2. Not selecting a file before clicking the upload button.
(causes server error)
Use the "browse" or "..." button to bring up a file selection
pop-up window.  Make sure you select a file before clicking "ok".
You should see the full path to that file in the text box, now it's
ok to hit "upload".

3. Aborting upload.  If you abort an upload before it is finished,
a broken icon will result.  You know it is finished because the screen
refreshes with the folder showing the newly created icon(s).  You might not be
able to delete a broken icon, try deleting the parent directory (try this for
any broken icon you can't delete).

4. "Out of memory error"  Happens on some systems with limited resources,
particularly while using certain AOL clients.  While uploading a file results
in broken icon.

2. Spaces in filenames.  The system currently does not correctly handle
spaces in filenames.  Files will upload but are discarded and won't appear.

3. Filenames that are more than 32 characters long.  The system currenly
only supports filenames for uploads that are 32 characters or less including
"." and any extensions.  Causes broken icon

4. Excess dots (".") in filename.  Files with more than one period will
upload successfully but will show a text icon instead of an image thumbnail.
