To anyone who took pictures of LDraw sessions at BricksWest, please send them my way for the LDraw.org event report for BW2003. Thanks! -Tim (23 years ago, 21-Feb-03, to lugnet.events.brickswest, lugnet.cad)

BricksWest Animation Festival from an ALEBA’s point of view

(ALEBA- Adult Lego Enthusiast By Association) I just made that up today..... I very much enjoyed meeting all the people behind the names I’ve seen scrolling by from Lugnet postings. To finally see their creations and in person was well beyond my (...) (23 years ago, 21-Feb-03, to lugnet.events.brickswest)

Re: Brickswest animation festival: how was it?

(...) That's exactly what I'd like :-) LTCs (and LUGs too) could film their events, layouts, as RTL Toronto, and add sound, music, maybe even a minifig in the layout giving a tour. Something like what Eric did would be cool. An idea I've got is the (...) (23 years ago, 21-Feb-03, to lugnet.events.brickswest, lugnet.animation)

Re: Brickswest animation festival: how was it?

(...) I agree completely. Todd shouldn't have to bend over backwards. Also I was amazed to hear that some contestants weren't received until less than a week before the conference. There should be a deadline that is at least a MONTH before. If it's (...) (23 years ago, 20-Feb-03, to lugnet.events.brickswest, lugnet.animation)

Re: BricksWest 2003 Animation Festival Awards

This post makes referance to debates/arguments that are happening/have happened over at the Brickfilms.com forums; I've had a good nights sleep (in this instance the word "good" will mean "poorly, on the sofa" because I was up so late) I wish to (...)   Re: Brickswest animation festival: how was it?

(...) Yup, Todd, but you asked for constructive feedback, not attacks. I saw a lot of the latter today. (...) Sure, and I think you're doing a great job of taking the constructive criticism to put on better festivals in the future. If I were you, (...)   Re: Brickswest animation festival: how was it?

Tim, thanks for the positive comment, but I still need people to weigh in with their critiques. I have called for input before and no one has said anything. Maybe this upheaval will encourage others to get-it-off their chest and weigh in with (...) (23 years ago, 20-Feb-03, to lugnet.events.brickswest, lugnet.animation)

Re: Brickswest animation festival: how was it?

In response to Scott, but not necessarily directed at Scott but the whole community. (...) The problems with the Animation Festival were entirely mine and mine alone. No one else, not Matt, Tim, Ahui, no one, has any responsibility for the (...) (23 years ago, 20-Feb-03, to lugnet.events.brickswest, lugnet.animation)

Re: Brickswest animation festival: how was it?

(...) [snip] (...) Todd - your contributions are most certainly welcome by me and by many others. Please don't let the complaints of people who were not even in attendance bother you. I think you're doing a great job trying to improve future (...) (23 years ago, 20-Feb-03, to lugnet.events.brickswest, lugnet.animation)
