Re: BrickFest 2007 location —Benjamin Ellermann
(...) Jordan, I do not mean to speak for Christina or the BrickFest 2007 Staff but I do have a few comments: Other venues outside of Washington will be explored. Many fans have brought up the fact that a centralized location could cut down driving (...) (18 years ago, 12-Sep-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

Re: BrickFest 2007 location —Frank Filz
(...) Personally I think a LEGO retail store is not a necessity (look at BrickFest PDX, or the first couple NW BrickCons, of course now both Seattle and PDX do have stores). In fact, in the past, I used to curse it's existence as a serious (...) (18 years ago, 12-Sep-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

Re: BrickFest 2007 location —Steve Hassenplug
(...) Indy does have an active club (displaying at train & hobby shows year round) and I'm part of a LEGO Robotics club (LafLRC) that's about an hour drive, and would also offer volunteer help. Steve (18 years ago, 12-Sep-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

Re: BrickFest 2007 location —Jeramy Spurgeon
(...) As a member of IndyLUG, I would say that we are a very active club, having around 15 strong members and 27 total on our roster. We've averaged 7-9 public shows a year for the past three years. Along with the LafLRC, only 30-40 miles away ready (...) (18 years ago, 12-Sep-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

Re: BrickFest 2007 location —Todd Thuma
(...) No disrespect to Frank, Jeramy, or anyone, but an active club is not, in my mind a prerequisite for a convention. The Washington Metropolitan Area has two active clubs, an LTC and a LUG. Neither plays an overly dominant role. I am not saying (...) (18 years ago, 13-Sep-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

Re: BrickFest 2007 location —Steve Hassenplug
(...) I think the point is that there is a group of volunteers, lined up and waiting to be tapped... Steve (in line) (18 years ago, 13-Sep-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

Re: BrickFest 2007 location —Scott E. Sanburn
To All, (...) As others have mentioned, I would love to see a Brickfest type event here in the midwest, and I would love to help out. Hopefully I will be able to participate more with IndyLUG here soon - our move is finally over, and my LSF is (...) (18 years ago, 13-Sep-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

Re: BrickFest 2007 location —Thomas Rafert
(...) Well I may not be the best authority on the subject but I'll give it a shot, I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. NWBrickCon has been fan organized from the beginning, we haven't hired anyone to help organize. I don't think the first (...) (18 years ago, 13-Sep-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

Re: BrickFest 2007 location —Frank Filz
(...) Of course if BrickFest reverted to the weekend before GenCon, Indy would work out real nice for me... I'd just have to find some local willing to put me up (and put up with me) for a few days between... Frank (18 years ago, 18-Sep-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

Re: BrickFest 2007 location —Ondrew Hartigan
(...) i'm a little partial since i live in the chicago burbs but chicago really is the ideal location. between the "L"lines metra and the other sorces of transportatin, getting around the area is fairly easy. hotels can be as cheap as $40 a night (...)          Re: BrickFest 2007 location —Jon Gilchrist
Actually, Chicago has had a brick event for the past two years. It's called "House of Bricks" and while it isn't as highly attended as Brickfest, those who have gone have had a good time by all reports. I was involved in HoB1, but not Hob2. HoB (...)         Re: BrickFest 2007 location —David Gregory
(...) If a proper venue could be aquired, such as the Indianapolis Convention Center, then there would be ample room for an enormous Brick Bazzar. A LEGO store is a great thing to have at Brickfest, but without one, the people selling on site could (...) (18 years ago, 13-Sep-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.loc.us.in.ind)

Re: BrickFest 2007 location —Joseph Greene
(...) Me too. I'd be very happy to assist with the endeavor in any way I can. (18 years ago, 13-Sep-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.loc.us.in.ind)

Re: BrickFest 2007 location —Duane Collicott
(...) For me, a LEGO store in the area doesn't add anything to the event or my chances of showing up. Typically, once I've paid for gas, food and lodging, there's no money left for shopping. I like the idea ofhaving BF in a more affordable place, (...) (18 years ago, 3-Oct-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)
