   Hey Brickfest Spacers,

--snipped worries about airlocks and the lack thereof--

There’s a much easier solution to this. Force Fields! I used it on the top floor of my Tycho Brahe Hotel, as can be seen here. This idea was stolen, er, borrowed from Jamie Neufeld. I think it’s a much more elegant solution, without requiring much other than a few tiles and dots to represent the force field emitters. They’re tuned to allow objects to pass through, yet keep the air in. Don’t ask me how it works, it’s SCI-FI! The shuttle bays in Star Trek use this technology too.

Adrian,

Thanks for the idea. I agree that this solution is quite elegant except it doesn’t ring with me that well. It definitely is easy and efficient. I guess it’s just that I like the idea of more tangible divisions; either that or I like making the accompanying noises too much.
