Heh

For all of you coming to brickfest, please pop over to the brickfest website and register your MOCs. Make sure if you have any special needs (i.e. proximity to outlets, etc.) you fill that in. Please make it a point to bring sig-figs as well. I’m hoping for a space group picture with a corresponding sig-fig group pic.

Additionally, Joe and I are were thinking in honor of the Sea Monkeys, we’d have a seafood dinner some night. Anyone else up for this?
Sounds good to me. Maybe we can order some Maryland-esque crabs?

Hey Brickfest Spacers,

Okay, well...
So, please start thinking about what you’ll be bringing, how much space you will need, and any other special consideration (e.g. proximity to outlets, etc.).

To go along with this update and because there are about two weeks left, I thought it would be a good idea to address a possible dilemma (stop me if I’m out of whack). I’ve been wondering over the past couple weeks about the breathable connectivity and workable issues of the Moonbase corridors.
As can be seen from various modules, some enclosed spaces were designed to be pressurized, so that the inhabitants could move about more “freely” (ie. the Club, Alpha quarters), while other enclosed areas, some spanning corridor to corridor, were created so users would have to be in pressured suits (/airsuits). The thing is not all units are accomodated for airlocks and it might be quite difficult to properly arrange the ones that are. SO...I think we need to discuss this beforehand and see what (if little) needs to be done. I propose as a decent and fast remedy the implementation of the following:
Swivel Frame Swivel Pane

What’s great about this frame is that it fits the standard corridor and the pane will allow a regular minifig with regular spacepack to pass through (sideways). There is hardly any change in floor level as the pane can be placed studs down, also allowing for some lighting near the “doorpost”. Furthermore, with the TRU & KBToys sales, these parts can be picked up in pairs for $10 or less in the

    1370 Raptor Rumble Studio
154 elements, 3 figures, US$20, 2001
LEGO > Studios > Jurassic Park III
(which also has some good tubing, foilage, and the proper System TIE Fighter windshield).

Placing a frame+pane near each corridor exit would pressurize the entire module, while two frame+plane’s in close proximity would create a regular airlock.
Alright, post away. And thanks for reading thru as I tend to not say things directly as possible.

eh, just build some modules. Don't worry about the details. If you can believe in fleebs, you can believe in magical science that handles everything (it's done with ball bearings and 30 weight motor oil, but don't tell anybody) Detail is fun, (...) (...) I believe you are "overthinking" the whole airlock issue. If everyone puts normal mini-fig house doors, opening inward, about 2 or 3 studs in from the edge of a connection corridor, there would be instant airlocks between all the modules. (...) (...) -snip- You're not out of whack, Andrew. You're keeping it spacey. I think its too late to make new building guidelines as many of the modules are built.
