Not sure how representative my stuff is... (aside, I read a factoid that
broadband usage/subscription among US homes was up 50%ish from last year and all
other sorts of internet connection (various dialup speeds, DSL) among US homes
was down varying percents in the teens) but here goes

Most of my machines have WMP 8 or 9.

All my machines at home share a common cable broadband connection to outside. We
get 512mb/s download and 64k up, I think... haven't actually measured it. Do you
have a URL of a tool to measure that sort of thing?

When I am on the road and dialed in (more and more hotels have broadband these
days) I usually am at between 24 and 56k, depending on line quality.

Hi folks, Jeff Van Winden and I are planning something (rtlToronto-speak for no promises) but need to know roughly how fast the general public's network connections are. If you're interested in seeing live video (speeches) from BrickFest at home on (...) (21 years ago, 18-Jul-03, to lugnet.events)
