Re: anybody take pictures of my map?

(...) I know Abe took one with me standing next to it. I saw one on BrickShelf with you standing next to it. I don't know if either are of sufficient resolution to see the 1x1s. -Rob. (21 years ago, 13-Aug-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

Brickfest 2003 and the Dark Griffon

Hey all, First, I just want to say one thing: Attending Brickfest 2003 was one of the best things I've ever done in my lifetime. I realize that may be a sad thing to say, but for me, it's true. I don't think I've had so much fun with LEGO, and I (...) (21 years ago, 13-Aug-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general, lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

anybody take pictures of my map?

We had a little mishap with the map during teardown and all of the dots were removed from most of the west coast states. I need someone who took pictures to help me replace them. If I have to, I'll just use the registered visitors list to replace (...) (21 years ago, 13-Aug-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

Re: Huge Fabuland display at Brickfest

(...) If I am not mistaken, the Fabuland guy had WamaLug printed on his name badge. Either that or I just noticed he had a local Virginia address on his badge. So, someone in WamaLug or WamaLTC should know who he is. I spoke with him during tear (...) (21 years ago, 12-Aug-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.fabuland)

Re: Brickfest 2003 Question and Answer

(...) Out of random curiosity, I just called the Orlando LIC and got a very surprising answer: 30 days (maybe a little longer), but pickabrick appears to be just around the corner. Ray (21 years ago, 12-Aug-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: Saturday General Session Announcements

(...) Last year we were unable to control the venue since we were spread out all over the Center House. This year, since we have our own room, we will be able to close the doors and tell them to come back the next day. Having more private hours was (...)   Re: Saturday General Session Announcements

(...) That will help (last year the public did continue past the 4 PM time frame as I recall). The concern I still have is having enough energy after catering to the public for 6 hours. I know that when a show is over for the day, I don't feel like (...) (21 years ago, 12-Aug-03, to lugnet.events.brickswest, lugnet.events.brickfest)

  Re: Saturday General Session Announcements

(...) Whoaaaa there, son. We recognized that downside from last year, and made efforts to rectify the situation this time around. We specifically are separating public and private hours this year to accomodate things like your Pirate Game. Since we (...)   Brickfest 20003

Whoa, what a fast weekend Brickfest was.... (URL) I had an even better time than I could have possibly ever expected. Huge turnouts for .Space and .Trains. RTLToronto's Mindstorm events have me thinking about next year already. The real fun though (...)   Re: Saturday General Session Announcements

(...) For a time. But it is growing and incorporating the public. Is it not? Take SciFi cons for example. You pay to get in, boy to you pay, but I can go and wander about if I wish. I won't get the extras but I can wander about. Now I believe your (...) (21 years ago, 12-Aug-03, to lugnet.events.brickswest, lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.events.nwbrickcon, lugnet.general)

  Re: Saturday General Session Announcements

(...) I wonder why this must be the case. BrickFest started quite well as a purely fan event. We didn't even really have an idea what the draw of the outlet store would be. Obviously it was some draw, and there will be some number of folks more (...) (21 years ago, 12-Aug-03, to lugnet.events.brickswest, lugnet.events.brickfest)

Re: Brick Fest 2003 Home Movie Festival

(...) Hey Todd, great job on the Animation Competition! Is there any chance that the entries will be posted? I see that the Race is already on BrickShelf, how about SK8R (V8R) BOI? If any of the most excellent entrants are reading, please feel free (...) (21 years ago, 12-Aug-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

Re: Huge Fabuland display at Brickfest

Sheree, The Fabuland display was the work of one gentleman. As I had a laptop and a printer on site, he asked me to make him a sign for it. The sign read "Entire Tow For Sale" and had his phone number. Unfortunately, neither Mark's pictures nor my (...) (21 years ago, 12-Aug-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.fabuland)

Re: BrickFest mention on CBS radio in NorCal

(...) The was a TV story Sunday night on one of our local stations, WTVD (ABC) about Brickfest, mentioning the attendee count and footage. My parents asked me if I was there this past weekend:) Joe Meno (21 years ago, 12-Aug-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  Community Roundtable @ BrickFest

Thanks to everyone who came out to the "What is the LEGO Community?" roundtable at BrickFest on Sunday! We had a great discussion that exceeded my expectations.   Re: BrickFest mention on CBS radio in NorCal

Local radio WMMQ 94.9 had a blurb on the morning show this weekend on it. Makin' fun of us. :P -Rick "Will Middelaer" <betamale@yahoo.com> wrote in message news:HJGEzn.p6w@lugnet.com... (...) morning, but (...) Lego, (...) model (...) (21 years ago, 12-Aug-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

  Re: Saturday General Session Announcements

(...) That's a valid point, to a certain extent. Not all participants will have that sort of experience (I remember about two months ago people were asking where they could find places for public display), and outside of events like BF, there aren't (...) On 00.38 8/12/2003 +0000, Mark wrote (...) This year at BrickFest we had open admission on Sunday. Even without advertising, we had spectacular turn out (still no numbers yet). I think the public influx provided energy to what traditionally has been (...) (21 years ago, 12-Aug-03, to lugnet.events.brickswest, lugnet.events.brickfest)

  Re: Saturday General Session Announcements

(...) I'm glad you brought this up. If we want cons to live we need the public. Let that sink in for a sec. For as diverse a group as we have here in the NW, it cannot support a regional convention by its fans alone. Won't happen. People balk at the (...)
