SO this is the piece you were referring to, James:

This is a bit ambiguous, and I read it to mean that TLG *publicized* and
explained the rationale in catalogs in Europe but not in the US, not
that the younger and less experienced builders were in Europe, not the
US <g>. I can see tha you might read it the other way, though. If Todd
is reading this, maybe he can say which he meant?
