Dear Guys & Gals at Lego what's with the lack of availability of certain sloping and sloping inverted bricks and also windscreens? I remember being able to order these with no problems from the spares leaflet that came with most sets when I was a (...) (21 years ago, 28-Jan-04, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Yes, the 32X32 blue as a single item has been discontinued for a while now. The glimmer of hope is that Pitsco Dacta still sells a pack of baseplates (4 or 5 I think) that includes the 32X32 blue. This may not be news to anyone, but it was news to me. I just got an email back from LEGO-Direct saying the blue 32 x 32 baseplate, though it says "Sold Out" on the S@H website, has been discontinued. Though I should look out for other items that (...) Here are some things you should do if you want to make more money: 1.keep the old light grey, dark grey and brown. It was a very limited-release product...I think the going theory is that Lego was trying to get rid of excess inventory, hence the bizarre (yet wonderful) blend of odd parts, a lot of them one or two per tub.
