Re: Are you paying attention, LEGO?

Basically TLC has 2 goals that several of you are paraphrasing. 1. Gaining market share through superior product. One way to gain market share is by introducing potential long term customers to your product. Does that mean get the kids at an earlier (...) (...) Yes. According to M-W online, the color chartreuse is "a variable color averaging a brilliant yellow green." It describes the LEGO color perfectly! (...) My favorite name for it (I think Jeff Thompson coined it?) is "Alien Vomit." :-) --Todd (24 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Are you paying attention, LEGO?

I strongly suspect that unless something happens to change our culture, that the in-store purchase of sets will be the the bulk of the (...) I meant in real life in the futuristic time setting of Lego Space(I should've made that clearer:) In such a time I hope we won't need the cloth head caps and that we'll simply do it like the movies: slip on, lock, and go. -Nathan (...) (24 years ago, 31-Oct-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Are you paying attention, LEGO?

(...) I believe that LEGO can maintain its lead by continuing to design high-quality building sets which appeal to progressively larger market segments, but that the ultimate winner will not be the one who designs and sells the best sets.   One way for Lego to improve its set designs

We all have a reasonable idea of Lego's set design process: 1. Choose, create or license a new theme/subtheme 2. Produce a range of concept models 3. Decide on new pieces to mould (eg Insectoid legs) 4. Design and manufacture 6-10 sets per release (...) (24 years ago, 31-Oct-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Are you paying attention, LEGO?
