 Dear LEGO / 1682 (-10)
Re: an update -- and an apology

My request for a nonstandard item: When you change plastic colors in a mold, I understand there is a small set of bricks with mixed colors. Don't throw them away, sell them to us! Pat Shepard P.S. Thanks to Chris Weeks for the idea, from a (...) (25 years ago, 29-Feb-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

  Common bricks in rare colors...

(...) Although what I'm about to mention here is almost certainly not be a "purist" solution, one that I've found that works reasonably well is using ordinary oil-based hobby paints like you'd use on plastic models. Most of the ones I've found are (...) (25 years ago, 29-Feb-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

Re: an update -- and an apology

(...) Gary, I think this list should be titled "Parts that town builders use a lot of on just one building." I'd vote for this list. Now I'll quibble with it: 1x4x3 window frames shouldn't be overlooked. The rest of us have been using them. (: White (...) (25 years ago, 29-Feb-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

  Re: fan support

(...) Stephen, I do hope some of the "LEGO Bigwhigs" (Peter Eio are you listening?) read this. I've said long ago that we AFOLs are TLC's "LEGO Ambassadors at Large". Gary Istok (25 years ago, 29-Feb-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: an update -- and an apology

(...) Nope... I'm thinking of building *huge*, *massive* castles and citadels, with *really* *thick* walls, ... [flashback actor="billy crystal" persona="grumpy old man"] the way they were made in the *good* old days, where a castle would last (...) (...) You may well get your on production run. Hang on a second, would 5000 burps not be just as good? Scott A (25 years ago, 29-Feb-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

Re: an update -- and an apology

Mr. Justus, Thank you for your post. Bearing in mind what you wrote, about basic bricks only for starters, I'd have to say that my most probable request for my first order would be -- depending on the actual final costs, of course -- a lot/order of (...)   Re: an update -- and an apology

(...) Agreed 100%. I think we are looking after sought after volume parts which are in current sets. I'm thinking of parts like castle walls, 4561 thin wall windows and the like. I doubt you'd ever get parts like 4561 nose as those parts only have (...) (25 years ago, 29-Feb-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

Re: bulk element votes (was: Re: an update -- and an apology)

(...) Well yes, I am pointing to the parts I want, but I didn't list all colors because we don't really know if, when we pick a piece, are we restricted to a single color? Or will they say "OK 2x2 tiles it is, in what colors do you want?" Too early (...) (25 years ago, 29-Feb-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)
