  Re: Looking for 8856 instructions

(...) The large yellow airplane is 8855, and it is scanned already. The large red rescue helicopter is 8856, which we are discussing. I really should scan it in. I'll try to inspire myself tonight. Adrian -- (URL) (26 years ago, 22-Nov-99, to lugnet.db.scans)

  Scan Wanted: 1917

Can someone upload a set of scans for the 1917 Catapult to Kevin's site. I would be most appreciative. Thanks Dan M. (26 years ago, 22-Nov-99, to lugnet.db.scans, lugnet.castle)

  Re: Looking for 8856 instructions

(...) Consider yourself spurred. :^) I'd really like to see scans of it. As far as I know, 8856 is the only eligible Technic/Expert Builder set that isn't found at brickshelf. -Tim (26 years ago, 22-Nov-99, to lugnet.db.scans)

  Re: Looking for 8856 instructions

(...) I have this set, and if sufficiently spurred on, I could probably scan it in and send it to brickshelf. I don't know if I've the time to do it though. Adrian -- (URL) (26 years ago, 19-Nov-99, to lugnet.db.scans)

  Looking for 8856 instructions

Anybody have instructions for the 8856 model? It looks like an interesting set, and I'd like to build it (I probably have all the right pieces from my collections). Brickshelf.com doesn't have it, thus the post here. Thanks. (26 years ago, 18-Nov-99, to lugnet.db.scans)

(...) I have scaned my copy of the set and uploaded it to Kevin's server. I have also e-mailed both of the requesters with a copy. Glad I could help the global AFOL movement in a small way. V. (26 years ago, 14-Nov-99, to lugnet.db.scans)

  Canadian Postal Van scan wanted

(...) What type of base does the wheel-set have? A 2x2 black brick? I would sincerely LOVE to have a scan of the instructions, and several others I would guess, too. Could I trade you some scanning of instructions, Idea books, or sticker sets for (...) (26 years ago, 14-Nov-99, to lugnet.db.scans)

Could someone please give a scan of set 105. Kevin Loch only has page 1. I really need to know what kind of wheels the set has, Rose r2eng@primenet.com (26 years ago, 10-Nov-99, to lugnet.db.scans)

  Re: Scans uploaded, critique wanted

(...) There is a program called jpegtran which will rotate JPEGs by any multiple of 90 degrees without decompressing the file, i.e. just by moving bits around in the jpg file. This means that there is _no_ loss in quality. But (there always is a (...) (26 years ago, 27-Oct-99, to lugnet.db.scans)

  Re: Scans uploaded, critique wanted

See if this makes sense. One of the options in Ember is to set the JPEG compression ratio. If you start with the JPEG image (suppose it's at 70%), then rotate it, then save it with a ratio of 100% (no compression), would that end up with a picture (...)   Re: Scans uploaded, critique wanted

That sounds like a good idea BUT, When you start with a JPEG, do something (even lossless rotation), and recompress as JPEG you exaggerate the JPEG artifacts. This is why it's important for the original scanner to rotate/crop/size the images BEFORE (...) (27 years ago, 22-Oct-99, to lugnet.db.scans)

  Re: Scans uploaded, critique wanted

Kevin, Have you ever thought about just rotating the scans you have? I use a Windows shareware program called Firehand Ember that allows you to rotate an image (GIF, JPG, BMP and others)with no noticeable image quality loss (amount other things). It (...)   Sticker scans upcoming...Suggestions?

Well, after taking about it for a year, I have started to build a website. I have a good collection of town, some train, and lot-o-technic and model team. I usually do not apply the stickers, especially the ones that cover multiple elements, and (...) (27 years ago, 12-Oct-99, to lugnet.db.scans)
