| (...) this could be easily done via cookies - have the server give you a cookie, and let you either go to a page to see your access history, or if you enter an email, mail it to you. | I know many people who wouldn't mind paying for these services, but I also know many who would be upset by this. Perhaps it should be voluntary? (As LUGNET memberships are.) | Addendum to my other post: (...) I just thought I'd point out that cookies alone would not solve the problem. What if someone deletes their cookies and/or switches computers? I've inventoried a set or two, and complied the Acronym FAQ, but it's all done out of - I dunno exactly what - "glad to help"-ness, or whatever, if it helped anyone then I'm glad I did it. | (...) Todd does accept gifts to Lugnet. I can see helping to keep Lugnet up. As far as those of us who scan or compile, I feel it's done voluntarily. I've put a few set inventories up, but I did it because I wanted to. If you want to support the (...) (23 years ago, 31-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.theory, lugnet.db.inv)
