  Re: Universal Color List...finally

Hello! (...) Well, I can only speak for myself. The year is eleven months old and I can count on two hands how many new sets I have bought. No multiple copies of one and the same set, either. What I bought, however, are old-grey and old-brown parts (...) (20 years ago, 19-Nov-04, to lugnet.color, lugnet.lego)

  Re: Universal Color List...finally

(...) Yea! More new colours! More shades of pinkish violet-green, 'cause the kids love them! This list, however universal it is deemed now, still has some drawbacks. The main problem I see is with these ugly new greys, which are on the list, and (...) (20 years ago, 19-Nov-04, to lugnet.color, lugnet.lego)

  Re: Universal Color List...finally

(...) The colour we usually call "tan" ist "Brick Yellow", Lego colour No. 5. I ordered some pieces once, and we had some difficulties matching the colours from Lego Speech to The Real World, but we managed by examining some sets, the lady from the (...)   Re: Universal Color List conversions

(...) Jake, A better resource for converting Lego color names to fan color names is the Isodomos Color Roots page: (URL) includes all of the colors on the Lego list provided to Peeron, plus conversions to Peeron, Bricklink, and LDraw color names.   Re: Universal Color List...finally

(...) With all due respect I don't think the color change had much if any real effect on sales. I am no LEGO appologist, actually the change bothers me more and more as time passes but I don't have the time or desire to waist time complaining about (...)   Re: Universal Color List...finally

(...) Dang. You're right. Thanks James, sarcasm it is definitely! But wouldn't you agree on how ironic the whole situation is? How set sale numbers of LEGO dropped like a stone, despite the wonderful new colors? Well, I suppose bad Knight's Kingdom (...) (20 years ago, 18-Nov-04, to lugnet.color, lugnet.lego, FTX)

  Re: Universal Color List...finally

Hi Jake, could you please ask your colleagues to provide lego numbers? I couldn't decode few of the colors on the LEGO list... (...) I assume color 5, Brick Yellow (Tan in Peeron terminology) (...) Nougat, color 18, looks totally improbable to me. I (...) (20 years ago, 18-Nov-04, to lugnet.color, lugnet.lego)

  Re: Universal Color List...finally

(...) Good to have the info. Can't quite seem to find out how to get Peeron to cross reference between the Lego name and "our" name however. I was trying to figure out if what we call tan is on the "keepers" list. JB (20 years ago, 18-Nov-04, to lugnet.color, lugnet.lego, FTX)

  Re: Universal Color List...finally

(...) Hi Jake, I would appreciate if you could clarify one item about this list... If I understand correctly, this is a list of colors which we may expect to be present and will not be changed without prior discussion. That much I understand. I (...)   Re: Universal Color List...finally

(...) Thanks for the list, Jake (and thanks for keeping Billund's feet to the fire!). But I have a few questions: There's no beige on that Peeron list. Are orange, yellow, red, blue, and green the same as "bright orange", "bright yellow", "bright (...) (20 years ago, 18-Nov-04, to lugnet.color, lugnet.lego, FTX)

  Re: Universal Color List...finally

It is nice to see that these colors will require review or discussion if a decision would ever be made to change them in the future. This seems like passing an Amendment to the U.S. Constitution - it can be done but would be hard to do. I like that. (...) (20 years ago, 18-Nov-04, to lugnet.color, lugnet.lego, FTX)

  Re: Universal Color List...finally

(...) Well, cool. Personally, I did not expect to see colors like Nougat or Medium Blue on this list. I only expected to see the basics and a few rainbowish colors added like a shade of green and/or purple. But, as a AFOL who has taken a recent (...)   Re: Universal Color List...finally

(...) I wonder why? Doesn't it feel good to have been proven right? After all, the new BRIGHTER sets were a raving success for LEGO, weren't they? LEGO sale numbers in Northern America were skyrocketing this year, and retailers have doubled or (...) (20 years ago, 18-Nov-04, to lugnet.color, lugnet.lego, FTX) !!

  Universal Color List...finally

I always hate starting off a conversation with an apology, but I fear I must today. For a number of months, I’ve been working with colleagues to get a final word on our "locked" or "universal" color list. I hate wading back into the color change (...)   Re: Medium stone and light gray

(...) Medium Stone and Dark Stone are names that peeron uses, and obtained from a list supplied by TLC. Medium Stone = MdStone = Light Bluish Gray (BrickLink name) Dark Stone = DkStone = Dark Bluish Gray (BrickLink name) There is a subtle difference (...) (20 years ago, 18-Nov-04, to lugnet.color)

Snippity snip (...) Hi Tim, I just finished building the set. Fun railcar. I'll tear it down in a few days or weeks for 'project three feet long' My first encounter with bley... and you were right about the matching. Thanks, Samarth (20 years ago, 18-Nov-04, to lugnet.color, FTX)

Re: Medium stone and light gray

  Medium stone and light gray

Hi All, I want to buy 'set #4855 spidermans train rescue' for it's windows. Peeron says that they are some 'Medium Stone' colored. Is there any noticabely large difference between it and light gray? Is there any colour comparision chart available (...) (20 years ago, 18-Nov-04, to lugnet.color)
