Hang on, dont' go forming any plans just yet, I gotta object. What's wrong
with a little competition? It only makes us strive to make better stories! • You
could also offer feedback, so the author (balladeer) can know make to • improve.
And imagine the thrill of being voted the best for the week!! It would be
great, and it would just make you want to make more. All I'm saying is that
competition would make everyone try harder, and we'd get better, more
entertaining stories.

Hmm, well, I see your point....

How about this - every story that's submitted is immediately nominated? Then
other people can vote for the stories, or email the balladeer w/comments... so
it's still all in good fun, and people are bound to win one week or the
other. ;-)

But that brings up another issue. Can anyone vote, or only CW members? I'd go
with... hmm... I don't know...
--We want as many people as possible to be involved in CW, and people might
enjoy the site without being members... so one point for "everyone"
--and...  well... I thought I had a reason for "members only" but I forgot. :- • )

Thoughts?

Well, I think, in order for people to vote, they should have to be members of
CW.  If someone isn't a member, then they could join and then vote, then maybe
that would encourage them to make stories of their own.  Because mostly (I
stress *mostly*) everyone who reads .castle is a member of CW, right?  So if
they're already interested in castle, that means that it couldn't hurt to have
them as a member of CW.

<snip> (...) so (...) forgot. :- (...) I've gotta agree with Wilson. I know that I joined CW so I could participate in this kind of thing, so it gives good incentive for others to do the same. -Chris (who will also be up around noon) (24 years ago, 22-Jun-00, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)
