Here is my review of the Ninja Heroes when I received them a few months ago
(for those of you who are interested in my opinion or if you don't have
these yet)

I just got my Ninjas Tuesday afternoon along w/ a couple of 3053s...I got my
order in under 30 hours from ordering woohoo!

3346 Ninja #3 20 pieces...

First impressions...very cool!

I had planned on introducing some MOC green ninjas in my webpage story
except mine were converted forestmen torsos w/ black hoods..I think theses
new ones will fill the role better.

As discussed elsewhere...the 2 green Ninjas have slightly different torso
graphics...One is the same as the red Ninja torso...the other mimics the
white Ninja Princess from 3053

Another female character:

For those of you who collect and appreciate Lego female figs...one of the
heads is the Ninja Princess face print (same as 3053 except the new head is
not as "blurry as a couple I own)  Te male Ninja head is the same as all the
gray and red Ninjas

The third fig in the pack is the emperor from the 3053...described as a
Samuari Lord on the accompanying card except he doesn't have the removable
armor piece...
The GOOD : this fantastic torso design finally sees the light of day.  The
BAD: the inclusion of this armor piece would be handy ( I have dozens, I
love this armor piece... but many people don't collect them the way I do)

My Rating: 9 out of 10 (New color interjected into an old theme, but missing
an armor piece I like)

3345 Ninja #2...19 pieces

Red Samurai and a black Ninja...
First impressions:  again Very cool!

The Black Ninja is standard...nothing different from the many included in
other sets...

This pack features 2 red Samurai w/ black katanas and Dark gray clip helmets
(no gold/silver horns for the clips though)  One figure has black Legs, the
other darg Gray.  There ae 2 distinct torso graphics....one is the standard
samurai plate graphic...the other, however, is the perforated torso graphic
previously only available in blue in the Ninja flagship set 6093 FNF...I
really like this among my Blue Samurai, but it looks even better in red.

A noteworthy point...

The head of the "elder" Samurai is the same as the face that is hidden by
a merlin beard in the 3053 Ninja Fire Fortress...again this is a great face
covered up in a previous incarnation.  The advantage is that you don't have
to pay $30 to get this wise and stern warrior/wizard face.

Red samurai figure prominentl in my army, so I really apreciate having a
little variation...

The Boss robber fig / the green vest is an ok grapic but more than a couple
and they are annoying; I cover them w/ armor or use them as galley
slaves...Thankfully this fig is not in the pack.

Rating:  7 out of 10 (basically I would have preferred a new fig design
substituted for the black ninja)

I have not received the 3rd in the Ninja theme heroes series...apparently it
ships after July 4th.

I am looking forward to this one...basically for the Black Samurai armor...

FINAL COMMENTS:

THE BAD:
The price per piece ratio is not great.
Their are only 3 figs per pack (and 1 in the 3rd)
NOT avaiable through retail...no discount on price

THE GOOD:
NEW COLORS for existing figs
An inexpensive way of obtaining cetain heads and torsos only available in
Kabaya sets or limited release polybag promos
NEW LIFE breathed into a discontinued theme
Additional minifig packs besides the standard 5 pack

THE POTENTIALLY UGLY...
THE CARDS:  Mountain graphic on one side small bio on the other...these
are kinda useless to me...they don't shed much light on the allegiances of
these new characters (I guess that'll be up to me)  These cards also seem to
be the same size as Pokemon cards...although I confess little knowledge of
that genre

THE STANDS:  these have Ninja etched onto one side on the top and have a
2x2 space of studs for mounting (white 2x2 plates are included to attach all
the stands together)  These may or may not be useless..I haven't tried to
put them on a base plate...if not for the raised groove that holds the
card...I may have been able to use these as marble floor tiles..I may try
this later though.

Minfig Packs getting smaller...I hope these are more promotional and
doesn't mean that future fig packs  will be even smaller...heck I was mad
when they dropped from 6 to 5 and then to 4 in some cases.

The collectable presentation...I hope Lego doesn't start moving towards
making collectable things like mattel does w/ Barbie or some such...

Overall I am Very Happy with my purchase...but some things here lean towards
an action figure based market that may nt bode well for future Lego Set
designs...time will tell.
