This has bugged me for quite some time, so let me get some opinions on the
topic of teasers and other previews. The reason I'm divided on this topic
is because there is something cool about seeing a whole creation at once.
By creation I mean structure, story, webpage, etc. There is this sense of
closure that one gets when looking at a complete site or structure. At
least that's been my experience.
Now - the flipside. I am a very impatient person by nature, so I like to
post my creations as soon as possible - complete or not. That way, I can get
some feedback on the stuff and make some adjustements. When I posted my
list of characters, I made some adjustements based on the comments I got
from other people. So yeah - I'm always listening and thinking.
So here is my situation - I'm working on Blut'Ader - my next big castle
town. The Inn is done and I posted it already. I also posted a shot of the
wall
sections and the list of characters. I am continuing to work on the city
and will work as much as I can during the spring break (coming up next week
- thank goodness). What are the upsides and downsides to posting updates?
The other alternative is to just post them to my webpage and not to
lugnet - then those that want to look can look and noone can stumble unto
them. That's fair. The last alternative is to just e-mail a few people with
questions and comments - one that I'm favoring right about now.
Anyhow - what do you think? Does this ramble even make sense? I feel that
it belongs in the group (sense this is the only group along with .market
that I read and it's out of place there :)

| (...) [vs.] (...) Another reason for previews... so people know who you are during those long stretches of constructing a large project, where you'd otherwise have no MOCs to show. (...) The downside is that you spoil the surprise. Save your best (...) (24 years ago, 15-Mar-01, to lugnet.castle)

| (...) I think site updates, previews, and teasers should be announced using common sense. I think MOCs are great! I have many myself. However, every time an announcement is made when a new character or storyline is created...it gets to be a hassle. (...) (24 years ago, 15-Mar-01, to lugnet.castle)

| As for me, I've always diliked people looking at half finished projects.... I'm the same with my work,....it gets anoying when a client is looking over my shoulder as I'm designing a poster for them...and the keep asking things... or saying... "I (...) (24 years ago, 15-Mar-01, to lugnet.castle)
