I think site updates, previews, and teasers should be announced using common
sense.

I think MOCs are great! I have many myself. However, every time an
announcement is made when a new character or storyline is created...it gets
to be a hassle. Usually, after I click on the link and start navigating the
site, I forget where to go to see the "new" item.

By posting frequent updates, people are in essence asking for praise. There
is nothing wrong with that, I think we are all guilty ..however; frequency
becomes an issue. How many times a month can we all say, "Great Job!" and
genuinely be excited about it (you know, like Easter Sunday Egg Hunt excited).

If you want my solution or some sort of unwritten guidelines: Instead of
posting teasers to a site, or site updates, why not just have a direct url
link to an image or two stating, "Here is my latest", or "preview of my new
story". And even this should be done in moderation. Perhaps once a month at
the most.

The castle community is growing rapidly with many people devloping their own
"realms". Awesome! However, keeping the rate of growth in mind,
lugnet.castle will soon be overrun with, "Site Updated", or "New color
scheme", or "New character added".

Personally, I think Frank Filz does a good job keeping his Castle and
Pirates links page. I usually head over to his site and browse the listings
when I'm interested in seeing if anything has been updated. If you are going
to post an update, make sure its something fresh. New buildings are always
good, seige weapons, boats. But lets face it, we've all seen every possible
combination of a minifig, and it's just not exciting unless there are X-acto
knives, putty, and paint involved. <<---- speaking on my behalf mind you.

(...) I enjoy seeing the teasers. If I'm busy, I may pass them up. On the other hand, when I'm busy a teaser can also be nice since it's just one or two pictures which get my imagination going. (...) Thanks for the praise, though to be somewhat (...) (24 years ago, 15-Mar-01, to lugnet.castle)

This has bugged me for quite some time, so let me get some opinions on the topic of teasers and other previews. The reason I'm divided on this topic is because there is something cool about seeing a whole creation at once. By creation I mean (...) (24 years ago, 15-Mar-01, to lugnet.castle)
