  King Leo on Throne?

About 2 weeks ago in the local K-mart I came across a new set that I found very curious - it was a small set in the $2 price range - of King Leo with a scepter and a small red throne. The set is obviously a new release, but I just assumed that it is (...) (24 years ago, 6-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: King Leo on Throne?

The set in question is not new. It is/was a small promotional set included with the lego chess computer game. (24 years ago, 6-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: King Leo on Throne?

(...) Sounds suspiciously like the Chess King: (URL) this isn't QUITE King Lego since he doesn't have the same head, but this could easily be the set you're talking about... DaveE (24 years ago, 6-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: King Leo on Throne?

(...) Interesting...perhaps it was just a rogue from an opened box? Has this set ever been sold by itself? I ask this because from all appearances the box seemed to be standard with all the usual markings. (24 years ago, 6-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: King Leo on Throne?

(...) Actually, he's better than King Leo. The king figure has the torso of the brown moustache knight (which I think is better); and the throne itself has 6 of those rounded red elements with a side plate notched one plate down from the top, 2 (...) (24 years ago, 6-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: King Leo on Throne?

(...) You can call but you won't be able to order it. It was an exclusive set only sond inside the LEGO Media Chess software package. You are not the first person to find this repackaged. Very curious. BEN GATRELLE (24 years ago, 6-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: King Leo on Throne?

(...) Well, I'll chock this one up to a lesson learned the hard way. I do have to hand it to K-mart: they have more old Lego stock than any other store I've known. (24 years ago, 6-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle)
