Thanks for the comments. I see what you mean on the arch/slope thing (at
first I thought you meant along the tops of the walls, which I was pretty
happy with, but I assume you mean the shape of the gateway). That comes out
of a) inverse slope shortage, and b) laziness. I originally was going to
just have the arches, but that led to the archway being too low. So I went
to raise it up with the inverse slope. I suppose I should have torn that
part apart and rebuilt.

Yes, I meant the shape of the gateway. I like the tops of the walls. How can you
have an inverse slope shortage when you have enough light grey to do all those
walls?

Thanks. I know one comment is that perhaps the houses should all match, and
I go back and forth on that. I think in a real living city there would be
more variation than, for instance, PJ had in the movie version. Plus this
was basically fun with trying different house styles.
|
Nah, I dont think matching is a good idea. I agree that a real city would have
variation. People expand their houses, fires burn some down and they have to be
rebuilt.

Nope, thats all LEGO, no Megablocks were used. If your comment is on the
color, I think thats a trick of the light bouncing off the walls.
|
Wacky, something seemed off, but maybe it was the light as you mention.
Other things I noticed today (or someone else mentioned):
-Flooring in the House of Healing. Wow! How did you get the tiles at an angle
like that? Youve got to do a behind the scenes look now.
-The arches on the underside of the
stairs, very slick. I really like how that looks and will be borrowing it
myself in the future.
