Just added a MOC to my site .. A Covered Marketplace. I took it along to the

Fest at Aldershot?!?  Why would you take it there?  What you should do with
it.. if you ask me, which you aren't going to, but I'm not going to wait for
your dismissal ..  is SHIP it to Tallahassee, Florida USA, care of me.  Taking
it to fests is a waste of time, IMHOP, especially when compared to shipping it
to me.  besides, it would make me quite happy.

As always, comments and critisism are welcomed (unless you are too critical
then I shall pout) ;)

well since you asked for it: criticism.. the model comes off as a little
boring, structurally.  take for example onishi shinji's nice model:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=353616
or also other works my this creative guy from england:
http://www.minifig.co.uk/models/farmhouse.htm
http://www.minifig.co.uk/models/church1.htm
the marketplace is essentially a rectangle.. most of what makes it interesting
is the details, but the 'overall' look of it is just a rectangular box.  in the
three models mentioned above there is some play in the building's design. they
either break the rectangular floorplan (shinji's bakery and the church), or
break up the third dimension of the 'box' (the sloped walls on the first level
of the farmhouse).  this makes them more visually interesting.

of course, look my past five creations.. what do you see? nothing but
rectangular boxes.  "hey kettle.. this is the pot, guess what.. you're black" a
classic example of someone able to give criticism but not apply it to themself.
and of course the most important word above is "little" as in "a little
boring", not at all "really boring" or "super boring" or even "i'm so bored i
ain't gonna write a responce.. yeah, ignoring this guy will teach him how to
build better LEGO creations".. no no, it was only a "little boring" as in,
"mostly cool" or even "tre-cool all morning"

now what was a princess bride reference doing in that paragraph above? like i
said in my post about twan's dutch stuff, i'm feeling kinda slap happy right
now.  but then again, in about ten minutes i'll have some of my own stuff to
post.. but maybe i might wait until tomorrow to post it.. wait, this is
supposed to be interior dialogue, not a post lugnet! oh no!!

to sum up: cool moc, perhaps play a little with your floorplan design. and, oh
yeah, i'm looney like a balooney.

to bologna! to bologna!
