The idea of a project like this is to have a standard for building which
allows groups of people to meet and create a larger display than their
personal collection and time might provide.
From my past experience in participating in these displays, I have to
say it is very rewarding to see your small (or not so small)
contribution become part of a larger whole.
And these things need not be copy cat just because they fit some
particular form factor. What we have seen in the Modular Castle Town
(BrickFest 2002), the Moonbase (worldwide creations, NWBrickCon, and
many smaller gatherings), and now the Medieval Marketplace show the
immense creativity of all of us.
